This piece was a part of a project in my Graphic Form 1 class during my Sophomore year of college called "Animal Icon". During this project, we were asked to find an animal that we thought could be designed by using "omission". When I first heard this prompt, I started to think of animals that were covered mostly in black and white, and ended up choosing a zebra because of the complexity of their natural patterns along with their engaging range of motion. I focused most of my efforts on randomizing the zebra's stripes, and I feel that the pattern I was able to capture properly omits the shape of a zebra while also giving it somewhat of a personality.
